Certificates 
 An entrance permit for Palestine, required by the British authorities in Palestine. Certificates were distributed in Germany on a group-by-group basis to workers, youth, "capitalists", family members, etc. As the plight of German Jewry worsened, and escape hinged on permission to enter a new country, the distribution of these certificates became a matter of life and death for many Jews.
